In the final days of the WV Legislative session, passions are high with regard to HB 5297, that would eliminate the current exemption in West Virginia’s gender-affirming care ban which allows minors to receive puberty blockers and hormones if they are diagnosed with gender dysphoria and are at risk of self-harm and suicide.
Fairness WV, one of the most vocal groups representing the opinions of the radical left in the Mountain State put out the call this week to rally support against HB 5297, claiming that:
“Our lawmakers need to stop trying to incite these pointless culture wars by inventing problems that don’t exist” — Andrew Schneider, Executive Director of Fairness West Virginia
Andrew says this even while over 20 states have now enacted laws to restrict the transgender industry from harming more children. Legislation has been passed, in large part, based on testimonies from youth such as Prisha Mosley and Chloe Cole who have experienced first hand the harms of puberty blockers, cross sex hormones and mutilating surgeries. All forms of supposed “care” which are irreversible and predispose young patients to becoming life-long slaves of the pharmaceutical industry.
The bill passed easily in the informed WV House of Delegates on February 28 by an 88-11 vote and now goes to the Senate. Many of our state lawmakers are aware of the transgender empire and the profits to be made by using experimental medicine on West Virginia children. Even the New York Times, of prominent left-wing bias, recognizes the work of SEGM in providing research and education on gender related issues around the globe, calling them “one of the most reliable, non-partisan organizations dedicated to the field”.
SEGM recently shared findings from a study published in BMJ Mental Health regarding suicide mortality among Gender-Dysphoric Adolescents which opposes the often heard battlecry from Fairness WV and other left-wing organizations that unless we give our children puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, they are going to commit suicide.
SEGM also reports on the trends in gender medicine from Europe, outlining the move away from puberty blockers in Sweden, Finland, England, Denmark and Norway. And other countries having discussions, researching and showing inclinations to move away from this model of care in Germany, France and Belgium. Do West Virginia healthcare providers follow world news on the treatment of children with gender dysphoria? What percentage of West Virginia physicians know why Tavistock—the world’s largest pediatric gender clinic— is closing?
The passions and profit margins at stake by HB 5297 have provided a keen opportunity for us to know more about our West Virginia healthcare providers because Fairness WV created a petition this week titled, “Health Care Provider Sign On Letter to Oppose House Bill 5297” which made headlines around the state as hundreds quickly signed on to express their support for experimental medicine. Experimental medicine which is proven to harm children around the world and put them at greater risk for suicide according to the latest studies.
One might think, at first glance, that this is a powerful show of knowledgeable physicians rallying in a protective stance around vulnerable children suffering with gender dysphoria. But hang on,.. wait a minute. Then you look at the signatures which include dentists, speech pathologists, forensic science majors, nurses, pharmacists, midwives, occupational therapists, and many medical students. Students?
Are we supposed to believe that these health care providers (are forensic science majors a health care provider?) are somehow experts --or even knowledgeable--in the field of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones?
Balderdash.
Credentials behind a name say nothing of ethics or knowledge about the specific issue of gender medicine. It says a lot about your willingness to put your name, a practicing professional or aspiring healthcare professional, out there to be used for political activism. Do they still teach ethics in our medical schools? I wonder. The organization Do No Harm claims that today’s medical schools include a focus on activism:
“Medical schools are being taken over by anti-racist activists. They are demanding that future physicians be trained to combat injustice and racism instead of caring for the unique medical needs of each individual patient.” -Do No Harm, website
The petition by Fairness WV on HB 5297 is a clarion call for the political activists in our healthcare system and the propaganda arm of WVU Medicine's new gender clinic. Thank you for identifying yourselves to the Mountain State.
“The opinion of 10,000 men is of no value if none of them know anything about the subject.”
