In a world where justice and sacredness of life are upheld, Dr. Jackie Stone would have been awarded a medal and celebrated as a national hero for Zimbabwe and indeed, many other areas around the world that benefitted from her expertise in helping patients with covid-19. Instead, she was wrongly accused on questionable charges and dragged to court twenty-seven times. She never went to jail but she did lose her ability to practice medicine.
Sadly, Dr. Stone ended her life on October 3, 2024.
Through the haze of confusion and bewilderment that permeated much of 2020 due to the pandemic, Dr. Stone became an inspiring voice of hope with a global reach. Based on her research and experience in successfully treating patients with covid-19, physicians from around the world were listening to her and implementing the suggestions she made for their own protocols by early 2021.
A member of the Royal College of Physicians in the UK, Dr. Jackie Stone, MBChB, was also a Senior Fellow, Holistic and Integrative Medicine for FLCCC Alliance. She made notable contributions to HIV treatment and prevention and had extensive experience in Rural and Remote Medicine. She worked in London, Dubai, Australia and Zimbabwe.
Most importantly, she had a solutions-based mentality combined with a great love for her profession and caring for people. When she discovered that adding Ivermectin to her protocol for early treatment of covid-19 kept patients out of the hospital, the good news spread like wildfire on social media, not only in Zimbabwe, but in many other countries as well.
Thus began the onslaught from international media to demonize and censor a drug that had been safely used since the 1970s in human populations. Now, doctors prescribing it were vilified as “quacks” and the pharmacists filling it were threatened with losing their license. The original discovery of Ivermectin for the treatment of parasitic infections earned a Nobel Prize and is listed among the World Health Organization's list of essential medicines. That information has been available on WHO’s website for years, but Big Pharma, the FDA and CDC among others, went to extraordinary lengths to deflect attention away from it; remember this famously deceptive tweet by the FDA in 2021? A tweet, incidentally, that landed them in federal court, and resulted in clarification of their arrogant and misleading tweet.
Physicians have always had the freedom to use their own medical expertise to offer a medication to their patients for off-label use, simply meaning that the symptoms or condition they are attempting to treat with a certain drug has not been approved by the FDA. It is a common and legal practice, often used for cancer patients.
From a standpoint of the pharmaceutical companies, they had to make war on the inexpensive drug for covid-19 because if successful protocols existed to effectively treat the virus, the emergency use authorization (EUA) status would be revoked. That would have created a roadblock for profits, for selling the experimental injections to other countries, for weakening authority to promote the jabs and undermining mandates to receive the injection in order to stay employed.
In hindsight, it’s heinous to realize that populations, including members of the medical community, were quibbling about the ability to prescribe a drug for off-label use at the same time hospitals were removing healthy breasts from teenagers to remedy a mental condition. It’s a cross-section view of the deterioration of medical ethics.
In watching this brief tribute to the life of Dr. Stone (posted below) and hearing her own words from the last recorded interview (July 2024) she seemed very defeated, lamenting that the doctor-patient relationship had been exploited in order to promote experimental medicine, that she didn’t know what the solutions were…and that “there seems to be a lot of chaos out there.”
It renews an awareness for hope to sustain us in this world. It is hope that gives us a reason to press on in spite of the circumstances, in spite of the storms and encircling darkness. J.R.R. Tolkien said that there is a word missing from our vocabulary: eucatastrophe. We are well acquainted with catastrophe as being a sudden turn from what is good to bad. What we are less familiar with is its opposite, the eucatastrophe, the sudden turning from what is bad to good, as example, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In the midst of chaos and a world turned upside down, it is with certainty that there is always hope because no one knows all ends. The reality of 9/11 enabled the unity of a nation on 9/12 and gave birth to heroes from all strata of life.
The light that shone within Dr. Jackie Stone will, beyond doubt, be missed by many. But her death need not be in vain; wherever one remembers and honors her work by implementing her loyalty to medical ethics and devotion to caring for human beings, there perpetuates hope.
May her memory be eternal †
