Fayetteville, WV, October 19-- Tom Fast announced that he will seek the Office of Judge of the Circuit Court of Fayette County. Having served in the West Virginia House of Delegates for the past nine years, Fast announced Thursday that for the 2024 election cycle, he, Lord willing, will seek a new direction in his life and run for the judicial seat.
"For over 30 years, I have worked as an attorney for the citizens of Fayette and surrounding counties," said Fast. "My areas of practice has included civil cases, criminal cases, abuse and neglect cases, corporate law, business transactions, estate probate, wills, deeds, contracts, personal injury, boundary issues, and multiple other areas of the law."
"As my wide spread experience in the general practice of law has lent support to being able to serve as a member of the House of Delegates, I now wish to use this experience, starting January 1, 2025, as a Circuit Judge, " Fast announced.
Fast made it clear that he will not be running against Judge Tom Ewing. "This judicial circuit will continue to have two sitting Circuit Judges," Fast said.
"My hope and prayer is that I will run successfully, and that I will be a judge of the utmost integrity and honesty. Without doubt, there are difficulties Judges endure but with God's help and guidance the task can be accomplished, " Fast continued.
As a sitting member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, Fast stated he intends to finish out his term as Delegate which will run until November, 2024. "I've always worked hard as a Delegate, and intend to continue doing so until the term ends in late 2024." Fast affirmed.
Between now and hopefully taking the bench, Fast said his law firm, Fast Law Office, L.C., will remain open serving the people of this great region. "I love this county, I love these people, and I hope to be a good lawyer for them, whether as a practicing attorney, or as a sitting Judge. After all, Circuit Judges are first and foremost attorneys. I'll try to be a good one."
